Assessment, Design, and Implementation

Epic Group is partnering with communities in the Carolinas to recover from disasters and build resilience.

Introductuion

The School Board of Seminole County (SBSC), Florida—one of Central Florida’s premier school districts—selected EPIC to conduct an enterprise needs assessment and implement a dashboardstyle web application to serve multiple business units.

SBSC leadership approved a phased roadmap: Phase 1 delivered the core application framework and the Dining Services module; Phase 2 delivered the Assessment & Accountability module. Built to SBSC IT standards and security protocols, SCPS ONE is a web application deployed within SBSC’s infrastructure and integrated with the District’s systems.

Challenge

SBSC needed a single, secure platform to unify data and streamline decisionmaking across departments. Key challenges included:

  • Disparate systems and manual reporting slowed responses to leadership and schoollevel requests
  • Need for daily data ingestion (e.g., POS) and automated dashboards/drilldowns
  • Consistent governance aligned to SBSC IT standards & security protocols
  • A roadmap that could evolve from early use cases (Dining Services) to Assessment & Accountability, Position Management, and beyond

Solution

EPIC partnered with SBSC stakeholders to design, build, and deploy SCPS ONE, a modular, standards-compliant web application that integrates with SBSC’s existing infrastructure and refreshes POS data daily. The solution provides dashboards, drilldown reports, and forms to support operational and analytical needs.

Delivered Modules & Capabilities

  • Dining Services: Interactive reports for Revenue, Meals Served, Guest Dining, Profitability, Labor & Food Costs; forms for Food/Inventory Cost, Labor Cost, Budgets, Meal Prices, and more
  • Assessment & Accountability: Interactive reports for Student Assessment, Accountability of Student Data, Ascension & Regression, and School Grades; data entry and maintenance forms for School Calendar, Student & Assessment Data, School Grades, and related attributes
  • Administration: Rolebased access and configuration for application management
  • Integration: Nightly retrieval of POS data; deployment within SBSC IT infrastructure under district standards
  • Related Work (Facilities):Following SCPS ONE, EPIC deployed Simplify i3® modules for Project Management and Inspections to support capital project planning and streamline inspection workflows—now in production use at SCPS.
