Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled GIS Architect + Developer to design and implement advanced geospatial solutions that support enterprise-wide digital initiatives. This role combines strategic architectural planning with hands-on development of GIS platforms, applications, and spatial databases. You’ll collaborate across departments to deliver tools and insights that enhance mapping, infrastructure management, and data analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable GIS architecture using Esri technologies and cloud platforms
  • Develop custom GIS applications, dashboards, and spatial tools using Python, JavaScript (ArcGIS API), and .NET
  • Integrate GIS systems with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, EAM) and APIs
  • Administer enterprise geodatabases (e.g., ArcSDE, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server) for performance, replication, and security
  • Lead spatial data modeling, geoprocessing automation, and ETL routines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver geospatial products
  • Provide expertise in spatial analytics, cartography, and geospatial data governance
  • Mentor junior developers and support system upgrades and tech innovation initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geospatial Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with GIS architecture and custom application development
  • Proficient in Esri ArcGIS stack, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro
  • Strong programming skills: Python (ArcPy), JavaScript (ArcGIS API/Web AppBuilder), and SQL
  • Familiarity with spatial databases and cloud GIS deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with source control (e.g., Git), CI/CD, and Agile development methodology
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Esri Technical Architect, GISP, AWS Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with open-source GIS (QGIS, GeoServer, Leaflet) and OGC standards
  • Knowledge of infrastructure sectors: utilities, transportation, public works, or city planning
  • Familiarity with CAD/GIS integration, BIM workflows, and mobile GIS solutions
  • Understanding of spatial data compliance, metadata standards, and accessibility requirements
