Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Architect and optimize data storage systems (e.g., relational and NoSQL databases)
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to support their data needs
- Ensure data integrity, security, and governance practices are implemented and maintained
- Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve data flow and processing performance
- Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues and system errors
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related role
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop)
- Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance standards
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Your job duties will include services in support of project delivery, research, evaluation and recommendation of emerging data management technologies, and proposal development. Your project activities and responsibilities will generally include database design, data architecture, systems integration, big data analytics, development of conceptual and proof of concept solutions, software development, needs assessment and gap analysis, planning, discovery, analysis and documentation of user requirements for enterprise web, GIS and mobile applications. You will also serve in a quality assurance oversight role for the software solutions that you were involved in the design and development stages. Periodically, you may be asked to serve on-site at EPIC’s client offices in Central Florida and travel to client locations outside of Orlando. You may also be assigned to serve as a Technical lead for projects in your domain of expertise, including big data management and enterprise data warehousing solutions. Your services will also be required in responding to request for proposals and in business development activities of work pursued by EPIC. You will also be involved in meeting with EPIC’s clients, business partners, and project managers in relation to project delivery and business development activities.
