The WateReuse Association is a nonprofit organization whose stated mission is to “advance the beneficial and efficient use of water resources through education, sound science, and technology using reclamation, recycling, reuse and desalination for the benefit of our members, the public, and the environment.” Members of the Association include all facets of the community from utilities, engineering firms, healthcare officials to academic researchers.
The WateReuse Association tasked EPIC with the redevelopment of their National Water Reuse Database (NWRD).
NWRD was designed as an internet application, providing Association members and the public access to water data through the Association’s website. The data included all facility and utility data collected from state-level surveys received each year. NWRD was developed as a Web-based application using ASP.NET, which is a current industry standard development framework. The database was integrated with the existing membership database, providing seamless access to the database while limiting access to the members-only section of the associated application.
